Subject: RE: [gislist] How to show hatch features without boundary ?
Date:  04/13/2004 06:05:01 AM
From:  Gary Andersen

There is a lisp program called hatch boundary where you create a
boundary from an existing hatch. The command line in AutoCAD is
'hatchb.' I have this loaded in my startup suite.=20

If you can't find it on the web, let me know and I can send you a copy.

Hi Nguyen,

It seems that you have deleted the outer boundary from the hatch, which
was
earlier a block. That means, you must have exploded the block to
separate
the hatch and the outer boundary. Now, you may be requiring the outer
polygon to take into ArcView, which is already being deleted. I am not
sure
if there is any tool available to make a polygon covering the entire
hatch
entity. However, you still have the hatch with you. And you can again
use
the explode command to make the hatch splitted into lines. And you can
take
over them to ArcView, without the outer boundary at least to cover up
the
vacant area.

And if you need the outer boundary anyhow, I think you may need to
search a
tool from internet that will make a polygon covering the entire hatch
area.
Do let me know, if you find any such tool while browsing.

Reagards,
Bigyan Kar
India
