I have digitized some geologic features on the surface of Europa - long linear features, and want to analyze the cross-cutting relationships at their intersections.
I took the shapefile and converted it to a coverage, cleaned it and built topology (as someone on the list helpfully suggested), and used NODEPOINT at the Arc command line to extract the nodes into a point coverage. However this extracts *all* of the nodes - including the endpoints of the lines, which I don't want. Is there some way to extract only the intersections? I.e. only the nodes which lie on more than one line?
Additionally, each of these geologic structures has a unique ID number which I assigned it during digitization. In the point coverage representing their intersections, I want two fields in the attribute table representing the unique ID numbers of the two line features which the node was at the intersection of. What's the right way to pull that data over? There are >500 intersections, so doing it by hand isn't so attractive.
(oh, and I'm using ArcGIS 8.3)
Thanks!
