Hello fellow listers,
In our small, not for profit operation, we have not had the budget to buy a large format printer. Fortunately, we have just had someone offer to donate their HP 650. We THINK this is great.
What I would like to get is feedback on the printer and running it. I know it is no longer supported by HP (according to their website). Are parts/supplies still readily available? Can I anticipate challenges plotting from ArcView 3.x on a Win XP machine? Will drivers be an issue? For basic maps, will the 300 dpi resolution look OK on 36" plots? I understand that in its day, the 650 was a great workhorse - is this true?
Any hints, tips you can offer will be greatly appreciated.
