Hi everyone. I'm using ArcGIS 8.2. I have data in a state plane coordinate system. My question is this:
the data I have are orthos in NJ. I know the data are in NAD83 state plane feet for NJ. After defining this projection, ArcGIS says it is in state plane NY-east. When I look at the details, the central meridian, false easting/northing, and lattitude are identical for NJ state plane and NY East state plane. Are these two coordinate systems, in fact, identical? Or is this an error in ESRI? I can't find a definitive list (outside of ArcDOC) of the central meridians of state plane zones. BTW: my data does line-up.
