Listers,
Just wondering if any of you have ever used Thiessen Polygons to map out substrates, specifically in an aquatic setting.=20
My dataset contains a large amount of transect points collected during a sonar survey of the bottom of a river. The points include attributes which define the substrate compaction and composition as discreet nominal data. For example, Hard compaction =3D 1, Medium compaction =3D = 2, and Soft compaction =3D 3. This is discreet data, so a hard substrate = can switch to a soft substrate without a medium substrate separating them.
I've been experimenting with Thiessen polygons for interpolating substrate polygons and am fairly happy with the results so far. Has anyone else used Thiessen polygons to do this, or know of any literature that discusses this?
Thank you and good day,
Bill
