Subject: RE: [gislist] Teleatlas format
Date:  04/23/2004 11:15:01 PM
From:  Dale Lutz

Hello Nyon,

Our FME product has supported GDF (including a number of teleatlas variants)
for quite some time.

See this press release: http://gislounge.com/news/safe030313a.shtml for more
information.

The trick with moving data into a format like GDF is transforming whatever
your data model is already into the quite complex and rigorous data model
that is GDF. Our FME product provides tools and transformations for doing
just that, but in practice, those that have worked with us with GDF have
typically involved our professional services people to get results more
quickly.

FME is available from www.safe.com as a free evaluation, but if you'd want to
try out the GDF, you'd need to request that evaluation from our sales people
(sales@safe.com). We have a document describing in more detail what is
involved with GDF input / output that they can provide as well.

Good luck!

Dale
