We are in the process of establishing an autonomous Geo-Informatics R&D Institute for two year master (PG) diploma and five years degree courses, please let's know what help anyone can provide?

Will ArcGIS Desktop 9 run the VBA scripts that I have
written in 8.1 without changes or will they need to be
modified for .NET?
When exactly will 9 be released?
Will 8.3 still be sold after the release of 9?
Will it be more prudent to buy 8.3 now and wait for
9.1 or 9.2 based on the track record of ESRI and
ArcGIS regarding buggy software.
