Hi Thomas,
Thanks for summing up this discussion.
Just to correct your mention of Universal Translator in MapInfo and for
those interested in the full version of FME, it is from SAFE SOFTWARE (based
in Canada, www.safe.com) and not Sage.
You have mentioned that you are using Build 408, which is quite old.
The latest Build of FME is 1303 (ftp://ftp.safe.com/fme/fme_beta.exe)
You can customize your translation in FME Workbench, which comes along with
this download.
