very good response

epoulsen <epoulsen@eden.rutgers.edu> wrote:Do you have excel? I would open the .txt file in excel and save as a .dbf

Then in ArcView - under the TABLE option in the program consol popup menu
select ADD and bring it in.

Now, do you have an existing shape file that you want to attach the data
results to? (If not skip down) If so, you have to make sure that there is a
common id - a column for your results with the identifier and the same
identifier column in the table for the shape file. Make sure both tables
(your results and the shapefile) are open. Depress (by clicking) the
identifier column header in the results first then do the same for the
shapefile identifier column. Then select TABLE in the options menu, and
pick JOIN.

***IF NOT***

I am guessing then you have an X Y coordinate for each row? Do the same
thing mentioned above to bring in the .dbf then create a new view (select
VIEW from the program consol menu) then under VIEW in the options menu, and
select ADD EVENT THEME... a pop-up menu appears, select your table, and the
field that represents the X coordinate and one that represents the Y
coordinate.

I hope this helps!
