The Department of Computer Science at Østfold University College
(Norway) is seeking
applicants for a post as Full Professor, preferably interested in the
fusion of web technologies and geographic content, often referred to
as the GeoWeb.
The Department has a staff of approximately 45 people, employed as
teachers, researchers,
technicians and administrators, and more than 400 students,
and we are the largest regional full-time academic institution within
computer science in Norway.
Some 35 master students are enrolled each year, and for the time
beeing we have three PhD students.
The GeoWeb activities currently involves about 10 master students, one
PhD student,
one Scientific Assistant and 2-3 Associate Professors.
The main bulk of our research and development is related to Project
OneMap.
We are conducting cutting edge research and development
and deploying the results as services on the web.
We are an Associate Member of OGC (OpenGIS Consortium).
