Listers,
About two years ago we had implemented a GIS - SCADA Interface development for the Water Supply Division of the Bombay Municipal Corporation.
The SCADA system was OASIS (From Valmet, Calgary, Canada) and the GIS was Smallworld 3.0.1.
Thumbnail Scope of the project:
Water quality instruments which measure parameters like turbidity, pH, chlorine content etc were installed in 14 reservoirs. The values were transmitted by VSAT terminals to the SCADA system installed in the central control room.
The location of all the reservoirs, the major / minor pipelines, valves etc was mapped into the GIS system. GPS coordinates of valve locations were used to ensure planimetric and geometric accuracy of the digital map. The GIS software "pulled" the parameter values from the SCADA and displayed it on the map.
I will be discussing offline with Anthony on further details that may be of interest to him. Any other listers who would like more details please send me email.
Warm regards DR G S Rao Asst General Manager - GIS Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited Mumbai, India 08jun04:1700
