Unfortunately, a very accurate point in many public service institutions. Certification may only exacerbate that. Not trying to hang a hat on this minute point, and its not really even a good argument against certification, but goes to the "unintended consequences" point I made in one of the original posts on this thread.
On another mind-thread, and this really distills the issue for me at least, is that with or without a certificate [however accepted or valid it may or may not become], the age-old adage is still true for employers, as always, "buyer beware". And buyers can only be aware with eyes wide open, and its hard to see when you are part of the stampede.
