Ok, read that text closely. Certification is so that people are certified=20
feel good about becoming certified.

come on guys, medical doctors and lawyers perhaps....but let's be serious:=
=20
a "GIS professional" is not a critical or essential job that needs=20
certification. In my opinion neither is a land surveyor or an=20
accountant: most of us do not care if a surveyor is certified or not, or=20
even if they got good grades on their last geometry exam in high school.
