Subject: [gislist] SUM HTML and JAVA books for beginners
Date:  06/23/2004 08:50:01 AM
From:  Lawrence Hartpence

I had a couple responses to my inquiry.

Landon Blake gave me these suggestions:

"Sams "Learn Java 2 in 24 Hours" was one of the best books that I found for
a good start in Java. There are also a couple of on-line textbooks
available.

Example: http://www.mindview.net/Books/TIJ/

The WC3 also has some on-line courses for HTML:

http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp "

Jason MacEachern gave me these suggestions:

"W3 Schools (http://www.w3schools.com/) and WebMonkey
(http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/) are two good sources, just off hand."

I did check out the W3 schools website and it was very good.

Thanks for the help.
