Subject: RE: [gislist] Magnification viewer utilities?
Date:  07/28/2004 07:00:01 PM
From:  Todd Helt

Travis,

For basic magnifier functionality, you can simply use the "Magnifier" tool
built into ArcGIS (from ArcMap, go to menu Windows->Magnifier).

For more advanced capabilities, you might want to take a look at our
products, MapImager(TM) and MultiViewer(TM), which are extensions to ArcGIS.
Here's brief descriptions, and links to the eval versions which you can
freely download and try out for yourself:

MultiViewer for ArcGIS adds a powerful yet easy-to-use linked map viewer
functionality to ArcGIS so that up to five maps views can be visualized
simultaneously. Great for visual comparison of imagery with other layers of
spatial data such as thematic maps, vector GIS data, scanned topo maps,
historical maps, etc. For add'l info and download free eval:
http://www.telemorphic.com/desktop/multiviewer.htm

MapImager for ArcGIS allows interactive comparison of any two layers with
easy-to-use blend/fade, swipe, change bands, and morphing. Excellent for
simple and effective demonstration of changes between two dates of imagery
or maps. For add'l info and to download a free eval:
http://www.telemorphic.com/desktop/mapimager.htm

Hope this helps!

Hi Listers,

Does anyone out there know where I can find a "magnifying glass" tool for
ArcView (3.x) and/or ArcGIS 8.x? These are the tools you can run within your
application, that allow your defined area to be magnified (zoomed view),
while the rest of your view remains at a constant zoom.

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Travis
