TerraTools from TerraSim Inc. (http://www.terrasim.com) is a great tool for
doing this. My VizMAP website has a few screen dumps from 3D projects that I
have performed using TerraTools (go to
http://www.vizmap.com.au/Simulations).
TerraSim's new "TerraTours" product also allows you to interrogate (point
and click on) the live realtime data during the flythrough to pull out the
original GIS attributes. Very cool.

If you have 3D Analyst for ArcGIS this comes with a program called 'Arc
Scene' which allows you to do exactly that (although admittedly the quality
isn't the best)
Also look out for the latest version which comes with ArcGlobe

Hi Listers,
Does anyone know of any extensions (preferably in conjunction with ESRI 3D
Analyst), applications, etc... available that would allow me to generate fly
over animations (i.e. in MPG, etc...) using common GIS dataset formats, i.e.
Shapefile, DEM, TIN, etc...?
Please enlighten me.
