Subject: [gislist] 2004 MAPublisher Map Awards - Only 3 Weeks Left to Enter
Date:  07/29/2004 07:40:01 AM
From:  Ted Florence

This is just a short reminder that there are only 3 weeks left to submit
your map(s) for the 2004 MAPublisher Map Awards.

The competition closes on August 20th, 2004 and we are anxious to
receive as many submissions as possible.

Last year we saw some stunning examples of cartographic excellence in
all categories, culminating in the Directorate Environment Affairs of
Namibia's Atlas of Namibia: A portrait of the land and its people, and
we look forward to just as exciting a selection of entries this year.

A copy of all maps received for this year's competition will also be
forwarded to The Map Division of the Library of Congress in Washington,
DC to be added to the MAPublisher collection established in 2003.

The competition is open to all maps created with MAPublisher (regardless
of the version used). Awards will be presented for the map judged as the
best in each category along with a grand prize for the Best Map Overall.
In the academic category the winning entrant with also be awarded a free
license of the MAPublisher version of their choice that they may use to
either expand or upgrade their existing MAPublisher working environment

Full contest details and entry forms can be found at
http://www.avenza.com/MPcomp/

We encourage you to enter your maps and share your achievements.

Good luck and happy mapping!
