Here is what I do when I run into this problem.=20
1. Add a new integer field to the table.
2. Calculate the new field to equal the old string field using the ".AsNumber" command.
3. Now you can load the new field since it's a number.
Good Luck, dt

Dear listers,
I'm trying to load data of type string (contains numeric values) from a .shp file to a schema of type (long integer) in a feature class, but I receive the following msg:
=20
objects didn't load
No current record.
=20
As the field values in the .shp file contained "", i.e. null values i thought that was the problem & started calculating these values to "0", i.e. numeric value
but still the problem persists.
How can I load this data?
=20
Kindly provide me with feedback ASAP

OS: Windows 2000
SW version: ArcView 3.2 for .shp files
Arcgis 8.2 for feature classes
