Hello!
Could anyone help me out here on configuring my workstation? The current one I have is sooooo sloooow. I need to ask for a specific configuration that will work best and this is something I am not an expert on.
Information:
* The data is stored on a server and has some pretty large imagery (~20 megabytes). * There is a Ethernet 10/100 Mbits/sec connection to the server. * I run ArcGIS9 (Arc/Info and ArcView) and am looking to setup ArcIMS in the (near) future.
I am the GIS person, use the software all day long to develop maps, some spatial analysis, building a database and am moving into developing functional applications.
This is my optional upgrade from what I have:
Custom Standard CAD Workstation IBM IntelliStation Z-Pro Dual Prestonia 2.8GHZ/512KB (4x) 256MB ECC DDR Memory 36.4GB 10K RPM SCSI HDD 73.4GB 10K RPM SCSI HDD Integerated SCSI Adaptec Ultra Dual 320 48/24/48 CDRW DVD ROM NVIDIA Quadro4 280NVS 10/100 ENET W/WOL Adapter Custom Win2k
I would like to know if anyone thinks this might be suitable for what I need. Please let me know if there isn't enough information. (Also custom standard means that this is a customized configuration that fits to my company's standard.)
THANK YOU!!!!!
