Subject: [gislist] Georeferenced Canadian Topographical Maps

Listers

Has anyone worked with Georeferenced Topographical Maps of Canada?
I need to use the 1:50000 scale Canadian Topographical Maps.
I ordered the data from the vendor Environment Canada recommended.
They sent the scanned 1:50000 and 1:250000 maps I wanted, but they are
.PNG files with associated .CAL files for georefferencing. These files are
supposed to be used only with the TOURATECH-TTQV software.
With my data, QVN_Canada also sent me a trial copy of TOURATECH-QV.

What I need is the equivalent of a GeoTIFF. My target platform is ArcGIS
(8.x or 9)

Does anyone know how to translate the .CAL files to something usable for
ArcGIS?

If not I will georeference the .PNG images one at a time, as the coordinates
are printed on the 4 corners each map.

Thanks
Andy
