Has anyone had success with using the ArcMap 8.3 3D Analyst volume
calculation=3F My company is trying to calculate the volume in reservoirs
at various elevations of fill. I used a TIN that was created from
bathymetry contours, the TIN projection was State Plane feet, and the
elevation values were feet as well. The volumes calculated by 3D Analyst
were on the order of 1-2 magnitudes higher than previously calculated
volumes for the reservoirs. A consultant performed the original
calculations likely 15-20 years ago, and we're unsure what method was
used. Regardless, the new numbers should not be so far off from the
originals.

I'm questioning the algorithm that 3D Analyst uses, has anyone been
successful using the calculation=3F
Do you know of any extensions or scripts that use a different algorithm
=66or calculating volume either for use in ArcMap 8.3 /ArcView 3.2 /Info=3F
What other methods have you successfully employed to calculate reservoir
volumes at various elevations=3F
