I am looking for clues on the programming that goes into the construction of Thiessen polygons. I am trying to construct polygons based on Reilly's Law for mapping of trade areas which is based on the Gravity Model:
IF *--------|------* A X B <--d(a)--> <--d(ab)------->
WHERE A = Jurisdiction A B = Jurisdiction B X = Market Boundary Pa = Population of A Pb = Population of B
THEN d(a) = [d(ab)]/[1 + sqrt(Pb/Pa)]
So if all points represent jurisdictions with the same population, then the region's Thiessen polygons would serve as its Reilly polygons. If not, the points representing jurisdictions with larger population would be surrounded by bigger polygons and so on...
