"Ideal European regions" versus "Real European regions"
Since several years the Department of Spatial Development and Infrastructur
& Environmental Planning at the Vienna University of Technology and Mecca
Environmental Consulting organize a seminar under the general topic of
"Spatial and environmental planning in Central and Eastern Europe". It has
become an annual event. The main aim of the seminar is to get information
and knowledge about the specific problems of spatial and environmental
planning in various CEE-states. This year the seminar will take place on
Tuesday, 22nd and Wednesday, 23th of February 2005 at the Vienna University
of Technology. It will be organised in cooperation with the annual CORP
symposium.

CORP Symposia are held annually since 1996 and have become the major
European conference dealing with impacts of information and communication
technologies on urban and spatial planning.
New possibilties for using technology as planning and administrative support
tools, perspectives of planning disciplines within the "information society"
as well as "the future of geographical space" are presented and discussed.
