To all but not limited to those using Erdas Imagine 8.7 on Windows XP
Service Park 1
I have been using Erdas Imagine for sometime now without problem until
when I tried to upgrade to 8.7. After what I thought was a complete
uninstall of an earlier version (8.6) and installation of a 8.7, I could
not get 8.7 running. My problem is I cannot get the License server under
the License Server Setup Tool started. I have tried various ways to get
this started (click the start button in the configure server panel or
restart machine) without success. When I try to start the Erdas License
Server manually in the Control PanelAdministrative ToolsServices I
get the following error:

"Could not start the ERDAS License Server service on Local Computer.
Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly".
The questions are:
Anybody seen this error message before? What does it mean? Any ideas as
how to solve it?
One idean that came to mind is to remove this service from the Services
(Local) panel altogether. Unfortunately the options for managing
services are Stop, Pause, Restart, enable, disable. Anybody know how to
remove unwanted in this panel?
