Subject: [gislist] A Degree Indeed
Date:  02/15/2005 10:40:01 AM
From:  Lance Winslow

The Degree Debate was an interesting one. Some of us had to quit school to
run a business. I would hire almost any of you with or without a degree.
Performance and Winning above all else. These technologies are extremely
necessary for the forward progression of this species and a career in this
field is a commitment to mankind.

I believe the simple fact that those of you who belong to this listserv and
care enough to do so shows strength of character, a search for excellence
and the dedication to continually better yourselves. Those are some
excellent qualities in any market sector, NGO, military or government
agency.

At the end of the day, you either know what you are doing or you are faking
it. You have either achieved or made an excuse. Your team will win or lose
in the balance. The 80/20 rule here is of value, but we know that the top 5%
really are the ones that make it happen and many of you are here on this
listserv.

Any smart executive or HR Director should understand the value of those in
this field and the relevance of someone with the skills and intelligence to
do their job and advance as the industry does to solve the problems of the
world and the challenges of innovative free markets.

Thanks to everyone for this discussion, very refreshing.

It's all good,

Lance Winslow
