Yes, another example of how, when you want to paint fast maps on the=20
screen, you don't need a heavy GIS-based solution behind the scenes, only a=
=20
clever programmer. Terraserver demonstrated this several years back: lots=
=20
of server power and lots of GBs, but a simple concept for retrieval and=20
visualization. The swiss map is even simpler, because they manage fewer=20
possible tiles.
