Subject: [gislist] Incomplete Installation of ArcGIS 9: Anyone with appropriate solution?
Date:  02/18/2005 03:20:01 AM
From:  Aka, Kyrian E SPDC-EPG-PN-TTSGM

Hi GIS - Professionals !
I am a Remote Sensing Consultant with fair knowledge of GIS =
Applications. I had a problem of recent with my ArcGIS 9 Software, which =
is running in MicroSoft Windows NT 2000 (Service Park4) in Shell-Global =
GID-Environment (Group Infrastructure Desktop).=20

The Problem is that after un-installing the ArcGIS 8.3 to install the =
current ArcGIS 9 version, I discover that there is a problem of partial =
installation, in which the Scripts which enables the Raster Layers to =
display appropriately (don't know the right name) refuses to run in the =
machine whereas all other ones are running perfectly well. This makes it =
impossible for me to see my raster Datasets on the screen, when I log =
into my system with my Smart Card. But If I log into other systems with =
same ArcGIS 9 software, I am able to see the raster Datasets. All the =
professionals in our GIS team have tried one way or the other to rectify =
it to no avail.=20

My question is, What next should I do and what solution should remedy =
the situation at hand? Any one with any idea out there?

I shall be glad to receive contributions that would enable me to solve =
the problem ASAP and return to my job, please.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Aka Kyrian E.
Consultant, Remote Sensing
