Thanks to everyone who helped. Here are the steps which work for me: Right click on LAYERS, go to properties (Data Frame Properties), click = on the Data Frame Tab, check the Fixed Scale Option and Enter the Scale = in the box.=20 (Thanks Nally, Jason, Sarah, Eric, and Margaret) Please note that when the 'Fixed Scale Option' is checked, and you = return to the Data View. all of the XOOM* toolbars will be greyed out. = To get the buttons back, you will have to check "Automatic" in the Data = Frame Properties. Hi everyone. I am running ArcGIS on a Windows 2000 Professional O/S. Previously, when running ArcView 3.3, whenever I wanted to print out a = layout on a specific scale (i.e., 1"=3D1000') I would double click the = layout and scale it as 1=3D12000 (1000 x 12") and that would give me the = perfect scale. I seem to be having problems determining how to print = out a layout in AcrGIS 9 as a specific scale. I can't seem to find the = answer and I have really looked. Does anyone out there have the answer? Thanks a lot in adavcnace. Art
