Dear all,
I am currently researching Enterprise Metadata Management Solutions, in pa=
rticular a scalable system/tool that allows the input of geographic informa=
tion and non-spatial metadata for a large organisation (>10 000 employees).=
The solution should enable the storage and maintenance of metadata and all=
ow distributed users to update/edit their entries. The preferred applicatio=
n will support relevant open standards including those for interoperability=
, interfaces and metadata and be developed within an XML environment utilis=
ing standard off-the-shelf databases (e.g. Oracle or SQL Server). The solu=
tion should also be able to be updated and accept user defined metadata sch=
emas.=20
I would greatly appreciate people's experience of implementing related sol=
utions, for example people's experience/views in implementing ESRIs ArcCata=
log or Intergraph's SMMS, or other non-GI based solutions people are aware =
of.
