This is a useful source of GIS terms if you know what you're looking for =
in a dictionary. See http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/EART/abbrev.html#c=20

Dear all,=20

Currently I am dealing with Map data of Shanghai, China. What I am =
having=20
now is a software developed there showing the railways and routes of =
the=20
city. My colleagues would like to extract the data out, and I discovered=20=

that the database files are in ".tdb" format. Besides, there are lots =
of=20
".bmp" files as base maps, but they can't be viewed with graphics =
viewer.=20
Do anyone of you know about the ".tdb" format or any softwares that can=20
decrpt .bmp files? Thanks in Advance.=20

Cecil

Dear All,
=20
I would like to create a mask of my remote sensing image in PCI/Geomatica
software. I already have the mask file but in Arcview shapefile (polygone)
format and I display it in PCI as a vector file. Does anyone can tell me =
how
can I converted it in mask or bitmap in order to apply it on my image ?
=20
Thanks a lot

Charles

Dear listers,
Thank you all for your replies concerning administrative regions of the=20
EU countries.

Now I am looking for a place in the Internet hosting descriptions of=20
various file formats used in GIS both vector and raster (data=20
structures, byte orders, number formats, offsets and all the related=20
stuff ) - all in one place. Does such a "place" exist ?

Best regards
Viktoras
