save the legend as a layer file (.lyr), then add this layer file as a new d=
ataset and change the source to your dataset

Subject: [gislist] ArcMap Legend

Dear all,
As a long-time ArcView user sometimes it makes me carzy to do some sipmle=
things in ArcMap.
For example saving the legends and using them on other datasets.
I made aspect and ArcMap creates automaticaly the legend: Flat, North,=20
Nortwest.....
All that I want is to save somehow this legend and when I open another grid=
which also represent aspect to reopen this legend on the new dataset.
This is quite elementary in ArcView, most probably in ArcMap also but I=20
can't find how.
Please could you give me some hints on this.

Thanks

Bezil
