Subject: RE: [gislist] 3.2 convert to shapefile in ArcGIS 9
Date:  03/15/2005 02:05:01 PM
From:  Analisa Gunnell

Hello Corinne,=20

I didn't have much luck with 9.0 (far too buggy!), and so went back to
using 8.3 for the interim. However, if my memory serves me correctly
the process should be the same for both versions... Simply make your
selection(s) and then right click on the data layer with features
selected. Now, go down to "data" and select the "export data" option.
This will open up an export window which at the top will allow you to
choose the option to export only the selected features. Voila!!!

Hopefully, this is what you were after...

Good luck!

Hi Everyone,

We upgraded to ArcGIS 9 today and I was wondering how you convert
selected features to a shapefile in 9? I was able to convert it to a
layer file but I need to modify the data separately from the source
data. Hopefully this makes sense.

Thanks,
