No one is saying its annoying, just wondering why ESRI users are seeking assistance outside of the multiple ESRI support channels.

I think if people have a GIS question, they should ask it. This is the GIS list. Use your delete key. Be specific in your subject line. Problem solved. Who is to say what is annoying, anyway?

Honestly Bill, WHY?
The ESRI forum gateway (http://support.esri.com/index.cfm?fa=forums.gateway) lists at least 50 forums.
I think there is a vendor independent (not ESRI) list serv for ESRI products also.
It would be nice to have a forum where the discussion is focused at geospatial problems, issues, methodologies, data, etc and not specific software.
I'm trying not to sound cranky, but GIS is not spelled ESRI.

Maybe we should split off a separate mailing list from GISlist for ESRI-specific support? Clearly there's a need, and it would be nice to have a separate place where people who want peer tech support can get it without annoying everybody else.
