What? Only 50? And there's a few more listed on Directions Magazine's
discussion list site, too. Well, perhaps that's not enough. Maybe these
lists are just so busy with people trying to find out what buttons they
need to push to do GIS that others just can't get a word in edgewise.

But seriously people, every other GIS software has at least one other
mailing list that anyone with problems with that software uses when they
have a question. Is it too much to ask to move the ESRI tech-support
questions to any one of the many other alternatives, and keep GISlist free
of such software-specific topics?

I don't mind if there's some discussion among people to discuss what ESRI
list is the best one to use for getting help with their software, or for
the occasional product-specific news piece, job announcements, and other
related, though not purely GIS topics, but using GISlist to get tech
support with ArcView or ArcIMS or whatever is just plain poor netiquette
now that there are so many alternatives.
