Subject: Re: [gislist] ESRI support????
Date:  03/21/2005 07:35:02 AM
From:  Ted Cisine

To try to answer your question, ESRI support varies with the issue and the
day. I have called in issues that I got to speak with someone immediately
and fixed the problem and I have called where it took almost a month for
them to get back to me. Neither were complex problems.

As far as this whole separate list that is for non-esri, I think this debate
is kinda silly.(IMHO). GIS is NOT spelled 'ESRI' but it is not spelled
'Anti-ESRI' either. In our organization, we use ESRI products and non-ESRI
products. I come to this list because it is a valuable resource with a lot
of good people.

All these ESRI product questions really have me wondering about ESRI
support.

Is the quality of ESRI support in such a state that ESRI users come to
generic GIS list server to find answers?

Are people not finding the support they on the ESRI specific list servers or
the ESRI website?

I believe that users that purchase ESRI products typically have some kind of
phone or email support. Is ESRI support either too difficult to access or
are the answers not sufficient?
