Why is there such resistence to using any number of the possible
alternative ESRI-focused support lists for ESRI-focused product support
questions?!? Everybody else with non-ESRI software tech support questions
takes them to the appropriate list and uses GISlist only for topics that
have to do with GIS. And no, questions about "runtime error in ArcGis9" or
how to create dynamic legends in ArcMap are not "anything GIS."

On the other hand, questions about how to extract some information using
some spatial operation in some particular software product I'd say are
more on-topic for GISlist. Questions about how to convert data from
or to ESRI formats don't bother me either. I'm just asking for people to
be a bit more discriminating over what they consider "anything GIS
related."
