In case anyone was wondering, I received only one response to my email, but it was right on target. After taking his advise I was able to select points in one feature based on the attributes of a related (one to many) table. The key was to start by querying the related table(The many)and then opening the "related file" (the one).
Thanks to Eric Kurti. Here is his response:

Add both the table of poles and widgets to arcmap. Goto the source selection tab in the table of contents. Open the widget table so you are presented with a table view of the widgets. Perform a selection by using Options -> select by attributes from the table view. Then select Options -> related table -> poles (or whatever your pole layer called). This should bring up the pole table view with the related items selected. If this doesn't work let me know.

Hello. I need a little help from all of you knowledgeable folks out there.
I am a student with a great deal of practice and experience, but I am really stumped by my latest challenge. I am working on a project where I need to do some queries based on a one-to-many relationship. I am using ArcInfo 9.0 and I have created the relationship class. This part seems to work great because I can use the identify tool and select any point and it will show me the data from the related table, even when related to multiple objects in the table.
What I want to do is a select by attribute, selecting the points in the original feature based on the attributes of the related table. For example: Let's say the original file has a feature set containing poles. The related table has the widgets that are mounted on the poles. I want to select all poles with "xyz" widget installed.
I have enclosed a hyperlinks to couple screen shots. The first is a screen shot of the relationship class I created. The second is a screen shot to show that the relationship is present, because I was able to use identify tool to see related data.

Screenshot2 <http://home.gci.net/~syvertson/Temp_Pics/Screenshot2.png>
In screenshot2, the pole is 1359, the widget would be 013-IB.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
