First of all I'm bader nader, and not ashamed of mention it , I thought it was send with email to all of you,
I did not mean any insulating ok, but if u understand it in this way your are FREE, and when I'm talking about any thing in my last email, it is from a personal experience, I follow up every event in the web, but if u ask ESRI (US) for any thing they redirected u to your local distributor, and in a lot of cases they don’t have sufficient knowledge, I did not mean by any way to talk about the money value of the services it is your negations, but my point is that I have in some cases they told u it is not ur right to ask for this for free and some other thing it is yours so we go into deep struggle with them. Also some companies in our region dose not know that they have such services, the idea of having one local distribution is not a good one especially for after sale services and it will decrease the level of services, since you are obligated to sign the maintenance contract with this company: you don’t have any other options.
We have reached an excellent level of GIS knowledge, though we are outside the states, and we are proud of that.
The worst thing is this monopoly.
And I did not say that ESRI has something to hide, but there distributors has a lot to hid in order to minimize there cost, and maximize there profits.
I hope that I clear it to all.

Why do you not tell other people who you are? I always find it incredibly rude to get an anonymous email. Is it because you don't' want to take the responsibility of the remarks you made?
I used to be a customer from outside the US. Born and Educated in the Netherlands I was more than aware of what ESRI's policies entail. I furthermore noticed when I studied and worked outside of Europe that people are more than 'in tune' with what is offered by ESRI, Intergraph, MapInfo or any other GIS software provider. It is kind insulting to hear that:
" bcz for customers outside the states , they pay and they don't know that they have other rights than the upgrade!"
What kind of ethnocentrism is that? Do you really think that people outside the US don't know how to take care of their own business?
If for whatever reason you don't know where you do pay maintenance for, just call the GIS provider up and ask for the license agreement. It will tell you what you can expect. If you still don't know, just call up and ask. I do understand that you are dealing with human beings on the phone who are prone to make mistakes. But let's face it: Who said life is perfect anyway?

Hi
Is it that confidential???? I thought there maybe some items that are common....
If it is that confidential, then there is some thing wrong??? bcz for customers outside the states , they pay and they don't know that they have other rights than the upgrade!!!! yes that is true though we pay as the customers in the states with all excellent services ... and this will let the distributors ( since they are the only distributor all through the country) monopoly this and will led to more manipulations.
Companies should be aware of there rights with ESRI distributors and ESRI has that responsibilities to tell them there privileges...
I thought there will be a lot of participant in this topic than this.
