Hello,
I know there are some scripts for ArcGIS 8.3 that do that and I am sure
that they have them for Arc 9.0. Try going to ArcScripts and looking for
XTools. Within the Plug in there is a selection for Table Operations,
which gives you the option to calculate area etc...
