Rick,
I just thought of another way. Assuming each polygon has some unique id,
you could use the Geoprocessing wizard to do a spatial join that would
assign the polygons attributes to the points. Then you could create a
report that gave a count of each point with the polygon id.

After searching the ArcScripts page several times, I sent my request to
the list. While waiting for a response I went back to ArcScripts and
immediately found the script I needed. It is called, surprisingly
enough, Calculate Points in Polygons.
