Hi
I designing and building a system for a client that involves Trimble GPS units and an enterprise application. In a nutshell the client wants to take data out into the field to update the existing information and capture new information using the Trimble GPS units they currently own. We are not interested in other tools such as ArcPad.
We would like to create a one button solution where the user is able to click the button and have information loaded on the units automatically (so it would download the data and automatically place the information in an SSF file). We were hoping to use the Trimble Pathfinder SDK but it does not provide us with full capabilties - but Trimble's Pathfinder Office does (but it does not allow us to automate the process so that it is seemless to the end user).
The users will then take the units into the field to modify the existing data, add new and delete existing records. When the user returns to the office we would like to again have a one button solution, sync with the enterprise solution (all of the changed data (updated or deleted) and the new data). This is where the problem lies in order to build a one button solution we need to ability perform the post processing step seamlessly to the end user. The client has their own base station servers, etc.
What we were wondering is does anyone know of any way we can automate the post processing step? Or any of the steps to accomplish our one button goal? We are looking for a software development kit (SDK) that includes a post processing engine and have been unable to locate anything. We have investigated the Pathfinder SDK but it does not come with this functionality.
Any assistance, idea, etc would be greatly aprpeciated.
Ross
