Try going to View and then to toolbars.

Hi Listers,
I'm a novice ArcGIS user so apologies for niaivety of my query.... I
seem to have lost the main tool bar in ArcMap and if I try to retrieve
it by right clicking on the menu area or by trying to customise the menu
it doesn't seem to help. It's checked in the custimise menu command and
I cannot uncheck it. Maybe I have inadvertently changed the normal
template - I don't know but if anyone has any suggestions, I'd certainly
appreciate your guidance.
