arcpad allows you to bring your gis data with you to the field if that = is what you choose to do. if you are in a situation where you would like t= o edit your gis layers in the field, arcpad would be a great tool if you = are using a geodatabase.

Hello,
We are in the process of purchasing a Trimble GeoXT GPS un= it and are in a quandary as to whether to purchase Terrasync versus ArcPad. We=
already have a GeoXT in house that uses Terrasync and it seems relatively easy to use. Is there anyone out there who is familiar with both Terrasync & ArcPad? Is there any clear reason to purchase ArcPad over Terrasync? I primarily use Pathfinder Office and AV 3.2a, but am much less proficient with ArcGIS 8.3. We will primarily use the GPS uni= t to record locations of stream and wetland flagging with sub-meter accuracy.
Thank You,
A Davis 919-831-8058 _______________________________________________ gislist mailing list gislist@lists.geocomm.com http://lists.geocomm.com/mailman/listinfo/gislist
