Hi=2C

We prefer TerraSync for numerous reasons=2E We have stringent requiremen=
ts (+/- 1 m) to manage over 9=2E5 million records in our enterprise syste=
m=2E Users pull information from the enterprise system and download it to=
the Pathfinder applciation=2C where they can use the satellite planning =
calendar to determine when and where they should go first=2E

We do not use real time differential correction=2C instead we have two ba=
se stations and we perform the post processing step in the office using p=
athfinder office=2E ArcPad is unable to support post processing=2E

As well we like the fact that we can quickly define a new data dictionary=
or modify our corporate standard dictionary in the office port it to the=
GPS unit and start to capture information in the field immediately=2E I=
n essence the data dictionary is used to dynamically create the forms in =
the TerraSync product=2E Where as with ArcPad you need to have programmi=
ng skills and have time to actually build a form=2E

We evaluation several tools including ArcPad and felt ArcPad fell short i=
n many areas - support for one to many relationships=2C requires the appl=
ication builder prodcut in order to build forms and applets (another cost=
over and above basic arcpad)=2E It is not great a indicating where your =
PDOP and HDOP values are at during time of data capture=2E =

The big difference to me do you want accuracy and control using a true GP=
S application or a nice GIS GUI that lacks functionality=3F Just my two c=
ents=2E
