VBA has been doomed for quite some time.
Support by Microsoft for Visual Basic (Classic) will end in ~3 years unless they change their mind. ESRI will likely follow suite as they are transitioning to .Net as well.
I have no idea what support options they will offer.. probably will simply tell you to upgrade. I wouldn't bother learning Visual Basic (Classic) at this point.
