I would create the tin without clipping first. Then I would modify/clip the tin with the Farm polygon. I have gotten more realistic results with that approach. I convert/import the lidar(.xyz data) into an access table then import into SHP or GDB.

hi folks,
I have a farm polygon and I have the lidar data. What I have done is clip the lidar data using the farm polygon. I am thinking if I could using the clipped lidar data to create a TIN surface. The point confused me is that I don't know if I should using the lidar data ONLY within the farm boundary or the extended lidar data beyound the farm boundary, say to some buffer distance. Anyone could help me out? What is the best way to create TIN when you have the lidar data? I am using ArcView 3.3.
Thanks a lot.
