I was giving some thought to setting up a non-profit GIS apprenticeship program to train GIS technicians. I was curious, is there a GIS Certificate focused on those relatively new to the profession? Something equivalent to an A.A.S. degree? Most of the certificates I've examined are for those with extensive experience.
