Subject: Re: [gislist] GIS - notebook - Apple?
Date:  07/10/2005 12:30:02 AM
From:  Mohamed Eleiche

Analisa,

You got a nice new notebook, Congratulations !!!
I'll tell you my personal experience,
As I run the same GIS applications on diversity of Intel platforms,
If your GIS application is concrete and well coded, it'll run safely on
PIII,
and the extra H/W resources will reduce the processing time,
if you're running heavy applications consuming hours of processing.

On the other hand, if you deal with a handicapped GIS application,
that make you mad when you need a result, specially quickly,
the extra H/W resources had nothing to do with this.

I advise you to keep your nice labtob, and spend your time in migrating
data and application to it, you have along road to walk.

Regards
