I receive almost no junk mail anymore. I used to get junkmail and pop up
advertisements in system stalling quantities. I have since installed a
software firewall, up to date spam monitoring software, and seemingly most
important, anti-spyware software, in addition to current antivirus and Internet
protection software. I set my browser security to medium high together with a few
other user defined parameters, and I now get about 3-4 unsolicited spam
messages per week. Those I report to contemporary watchdog groups.
All this seems to have been pretty effective for me. My system used to be
very slow and erratic. I had much grief trying to eliminate unsolicited mail.
I have none of those problems now.
