For 30m DEMs of Guatemala you may try to see
the website after Chen, who tried to describe free
DEMs and respective free software:

Look at his link "ASTERDEM Coverage Map"
for current ASTER coverage of Guatemala.
But I am not sure that 30m ASTER DEMs are free
at this time. Alternatively, you may use SRTM
90m DEMs available (really free) at this FTP-thread:
ftp://e0mss21u.ecs.nasa.gov/srtm/

I was wondering if anyone had information about DEM (30m resolution) for
Guatemala. I would greatly appreciate information on how to download, obtain
information of the South eastern portion of Guatemala (Departments of
Izabal, Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz, El Progreso, Zapaca, Jalapa, and
Chiquimula)
